Job Description

The Human Resources Officer will manage HR activities specific to the factory environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and labor laws. This role involves recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and maintaining employee records. The HR Officer will act as a liaison between factory employees and management, fostering a positive workplace culture and addressing HR-related issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Staffing:

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies tailored to the factory workforce.
  • Post job openings on various platforms and within the local community.
  • Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and coordinate hiring processes.
  • Prepare and extend job offers, and manage the onboarding process for new hires.

Employee Relations:

  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts efficiently.
  • Conduct regular meetings with employees to understand their concerns and feedback.
  • Facilitate communication between factory workers and management.
  • Promote positive employee relations and a supportive work environment.

Performance Management:

  • Assist in developing and implementing performance evaluation programs.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors on performance management issues.
  • Monitor employee performance and support improvement plans.
  • Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and productivity.

Compliance and Records Management:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
  • Prepare reports on HR metrics such as employee turnover, recruitment, and training.
  • Assist in conducting HR audits and implementing corrective actions.

Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Assist in developing, updating, and communicating HR policies and procedures specific to the factory environment.
  • Ensure all HR practices are consistent and compliant with legal requirements.
  • Provide training and support to employees on company policies and safety procedures.

Benefits Administration:

  • Manage employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and issues.
  • Coordinate open enrollment periods and benefits education sessions.

Health and Safety:

  • Promote a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct safety training and emergency drills.
  • Address workplace safety concerns and incidents promptly.
  • Work with the safety officer to implement and maintain safety programs.

Labor Relations:

  • Liaise with labor unions (if applicable) and manage collective bargaining agreements.
  • Address union-related issues and grievances in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with union contracts and labor laws.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a factory or manufacturing environment.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices in a factory setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with labor laws and regulations related to factory operations.

Working Conditions:

  • Factory environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
  • Standard working hours with occasional overtime or shift work as required.
  • Occasional travel may be required for recruitment events or training sessions.
