JOB SUMMARY:
An Audit Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records within an organization.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Develop and execute audit plans based on the organization’s risk assessment.
Coordinate audit activities with other departments and teams to ensure efficient and effective processes.
Perform detailed examination of financial records, internal controls, and compliance with regulations.
Prepare comprehensive and clear audit reports detailing findings, recommendations, and management responses.
Communicate audit results to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
Review the reports by evaluating the financial and operational records
Make recommendations for improving the operational procedures, streamlining of the auditing project by decreasing the turnaround time
Reviews the audits and ensures their quality, accuracy and its conformance with the policies of the department.
Documents and evaluates the performance, provides feedback and maintains the reports.
Stay informed about changes in regulations and industry standards that may impact the organization.
Ensure that the organization is in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Stay current with developments in accounting, auditing, and industry best practices.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A BS degree or business administration degree is the minimum requirement.
- A professional certification in audit, a CPA or CIA certification is definitely a plus.
- Should have at least 1 year of auditing experience with preferably a focus on (AML) Anti-money Laundering and financial crime prevention.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
