Job Posting – Electrical/ Automation Engineer
Premium Foods Limited (PFL) is a leading Ago-processing company in Ghana located at EjisuKwaso in the Ashanti Region. PFL is looking for a self-motivated and committed individual who pays attention to details to join the team as an Electrical/ Automation Engineer.
Job Profile
To Coordinate and Supervise Electrical/Automation activities on site to meet production targets and customer deadlines from installation, maintenance of electrical systems, troubleshooting and fixing faults.
Location & Reporting Line
The role is based at Premium Foods Limited, Kwaso Factory, Kumasi. H/She reports directly to the Engineering Services Manager.
Key Duties/ Responsibilities
- Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair and replacement of plant parts to ensure maximum productivity and quality in the plant.
- Plan and develop equipment maintenance/preventive schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of electrical expenditures, and procedures for equipment and appliance maintenance and ensure strict conformance of plan so as to control major unplanned downtimes.
- Constantly check machinery during production to ensure smooth operation and any unusual sounds.
- Review downtime report from previous shift for any adverse report or hindrance.
- Install new electronic equipment and electrical wiring being cognizance of industrial electrification standards, safety and environmental regulations.
- Perform routine electrical and maintenance activities on equipment including inspection, replacement of parts and ordering to maintain stock levels.
- Assist in plant conversions and installations.
- Develop a spare part policy to govern the use of spare parts.
- Prepare weekly maintenance report and submit to Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure there are adequate spares available to ensure continuous run of production equipment on site.
- Review the operation of plant equipment to minimize unplanned downtime and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Supervise electricians and ensure all safety standards and compliance codes are adhered
to. - Train workers on how to troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning plant equipment such as compressors, scales, motors, panels etc.
- Interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics and diagrams for a variety of Electrical systems.
- Maintain records of plant function readings and equipment history as well as preventive maintenance records and schedules.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification, Work Experience Requirement & Key Competencies
- HND or BSc in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering
- Minimum of Five (5) years relevant experience in manufacturing or related field
- Strong Electrical automation background with experience in the Milling Plant
- Ability to diagnose and repair malfunctioning plant equipment, boiler, air compressors, scales, motors, panels etc.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics and diagrams for a variety of Electrical systems.
- Strong trouble shooting skills
- Ability to lead and manage people for success by coordinating with the engineering team on site.
- Ability to develop principles and strategies to monitor and control electrical systems to ensure safety compliance and void deviations.
- Ability to relate with the utility providers to ensure regular power supply
