Job Description

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods and services necessary for the company’s operations. They will work closely with various departments to understand their procurement needs, identify suitable suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products and services at the best possible value.

Key Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Supplier Management:

  • Identify potential suppliers/vendors based on quality, price, and delivery speed.
    Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to ensure competitiveness and reliability.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize procurement outcomes.

Procurement Process Management:

  • Coordinate and execute the end-to-end procurement process, including requisition, purchase order issuance, and receipt of goods/services.
  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and budgetary constraints.
  • Monitor procurement activities and track delivery schedules to ensure timely receipt of goods/services.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management:
    Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and quality assurance.
  • Monitor contract performance and address any issues or discrepancies that may arise during the procurement process.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and expenses.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Assess and mitigate procurement-related risks, such as supply chain disruptions and vendor non-compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
    Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze data, make informed decisions, and solve problems effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, conferences, or training sessions.
  • Strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all procurement activities.
