As a Medical Counter Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacy operations and providing excellent pharmaceutical services to our valued clients. You would work alongside a passionate healthcare team to build our brand and make us the go-to pharmacy.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications, ensuring proper labelling and packaging.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns and directing patients to appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving, stocking, and organizing medications and supplies.
  • Receive and process prescription orders, verifying insurance coverage and communicating with healthcare providers as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of prescription orders, inventory transactions, and patient profiles.
  • Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment and software systems.
  • Adhere to safety standards and report any potential hazards or incidents to the pharmacist.
  • Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing phone calls, and organizing paperwork.
  • Stay updated on pharmacy regulations, new medications, and industry trends through ongoing education and professional development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication dispensing and record-keeping.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with pharmacy dispensing software.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
