We are urgently looking for a cashier to join our team. If you are a trustworthy, reliable, highly motivated and experienced cashier, we would love to hear from you. As part of the Top-Up Pharmacy team, you would work with other team members to ensure best practices and provide exceptional customer service to our clients.

You will be responsible for accurate till operations, pleasantly serving customers, assisting pharmacy staff on the shop floor and providing excellent customer service at all times.

Handling cash, banking processes, computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, assist, answer questions and professionally resolve customer complaints.
  • Accurately and efficiently process customer purchases, including scanning products, entering prices, and accepting payment.
  • Handle cash, credit & debit card transactions and ensure accuracy and adherence to cash handling procedures.
  • Issue receipts for all purchases and ensure that receipts are printed correctly.
  • Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure timely and accurate prescription pickup and payment processing.
  • Provide information about products, services and promotions to customers making recommendations as appropriate.
  • Assist with inventory management, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
  • Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, including restocking bags, receipt paper and other supplies.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Continuously update knowledge of pharmacy products and services to provide accurate information to customers.

Requirements

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) or equivalent in Accounting or related discipline.
  • Previous experience as a cashier or in a customer service role, preferably in a retail setting.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to accurately handle cash transactions.
  • Familiarity with cash registers and point-of-sale systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy products and services is a plus, but not required.
