JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a self-motivated, industry-oriented and innovative person to assume the role of Maintenance Manager. (S)he will provide support on all technical issues in the entire operation chain. Success in this role will be attained by using valuable insight into planned preventive maintenance principles and mechanical engineering to continuously improve equipment and plant efficiency. The Mechanical Technician will assist management to oversee the technical department and will develop, implement, and monitor procedures to maximize the efficiency of the facilities and production.(S) he is expected to show excellent planning, coordination, multi-tasking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork in executing his/her duties to enhance the productivity of the company and achieve a common organizational target.

OVERALL DUTY

Plan, strategize, and implement the preventive and corrective action programs agreed upon with
technical and maintenance management. Assure the efficiency and effectiveness of plants and facilities
in the operation chain.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out Preventive Maintenance Program on factory machines and record all maintenance activities and record details of all jobs carried out including parts replaced to forestall breakdowns in the Technical control documents.
•  Report timely the technical issues that require special attention
•  Support and ensure the implementation of the energy management system at Koa Ghana.
•  Support the implementation of the maintenance software, feeding information about equipment, and recording activities to ensure reliable and useful information on the software or drive.
• Perform daily routine checks on all factory utility equipment to ensure they are in good operational condition prior to production starts. This shall include power generators, boilers, pasteurizers, fuel metering systems, etc.
• Record the daily consumption of all utilities Electricity, water, Fuel
• Ensuring that breakdowns are attended to and completed within a short time.
• Applying preventative measures to factory equipment, utilities, and documentation of all maintenance activities to reduce the risk of future breakdowns.
• Ensure (Reverse Osmosis) water treatment plants, chillers, and cooling towers are operates at the optimum level of productive efficiency.
• Maintain, develop and collaborate in the creation and control of technical documentation required and related to the technical and maintenance department and new projects.
• Leading and supporting continuous improvement activities, such as reducing negative environmental impact, and process automation.

REPORTING

Reports to the Senior Technical Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENT
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Must have a Minimum HND Mechanical (Plant Option) Engineering
• A minimum of 5 years of work
•  HACCP certification will be an added advantage.

COMPETENCE AND SKILLS

• Should be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
• Conceptual technical and system design skills
• Knowledge and experience in SCADA systems
• Experience in pneumatic control systems for automated machinery
• Good Knowledge of steam boiler and generator operation and maintenance
• Hands-on experience in boilers, chillers, cooling towers, steam valves, and other steam ancillaries.
• Knowledge of pipe fittings and general plumbing
• Communication, teamwork & leadership
• Experience in a similar industry setting is an advantage
• Solid analytical skills and self-motivation.
• Ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization.
• Ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
• Proven troubleshooting skills
