Job Summary:

Rock City Hotel, an esteemed hospitality establishment, is seeking a skilled and visionary IT Manager to oversee our information technology infrastructure. The IT Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficiency, security, and alignment of our IT systems with the business objectives of Rock City Hotel.

Technical Competence/Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of Rock City Hotel’s IT infrastructure.
  • Ensure the availability, security, and performance of systems and networks.
  • Develop and implement IT security policies and procedures specific to the hospitality industry.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Manage the deployment, maintenance, and upgrades of software and hardware systems tailored to the hotel’s needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Administer the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to support Rock City¬†Hotel’s operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly.
  • Oversee data backup and recovery processes, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of guest and¬†operational data.
  • Implement measures to safeguard against data breaches.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues efficiently.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance IT literacy among hotel staff.

Managerial Competencies/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with Rock City Hotel’s business goals and guest experience objectives.
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership to contribute to the overall organizational strategy.
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing IT team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Ensure the IT team is equipped to support the hotel’s technological needs.
  • Develop and manage the IT budget for Rock City Hotel, ensuring cost-effectiveness in technology
    investments.
  • Allocate resources efficiently to meet project and operational requirements.
  • Liaise with IT vendors to negotiate contracts and ensure service delivery meets the unique needs of a¬†hospitality environment.
  • Evaluate and select vendors based on performance and cost-effectiveness.

Personality Competence/Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including hotel management and staff.
  • Translate technical concepts into understandable terms for various audiences.
  • Analyze complex IT issues and provide effective solutions with a keen understanding of the hotel
    industry’s unique challenges.
  • Proactively identify potential problems and implement preventive measures to ensure uninterrupted¬†guest services.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to hospitality.
  • Adapt IT strategies to address the evolving technological needs of Rock City Hotel.
    Other Responsibilities:
  • Undertake any other responsibilities as may be assigned by Rock City Hotel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, or Microsoft) is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in IT management, with a minimum of [12] years in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and information systems. Familiarity with hotel- specific technologies and property management systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address and resolve IT issues efficiently.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and experience implementing measures to safeguard the¬†hotel’s data and systems.
  • Ability to provide effective technical support to hotel staff, troubleshoot hardware and software issues,¬†and conduct training sessions.
  • Experience collaborating with other departments to understand and address technology needs.
  • Willingness to stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend upgrades or improvements to enhance the hotel’s IT infrastructure.
  • Readiness to adapt to the dynamic IT requirements of a busy hospitality environment, including irregular hours and on-call support if necessary.
