We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated Health and Safety (H&S) officer to assist the QHSE Manager
to monitor, and evaluate established health and safety requirements in a processing factory setting
towards the realisation of the department’s targets and the company’s overall safety goals.
The suitable candidate is expected to have a good understanding and working knowledge of occupational
health and safety requirements in a typical manufacturing environment. Success in this role requires
maintaining an accurate ability to train and coach, record keeping, providing valuable inputs and
analytical thinking to help improve existing processes, and firmness.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct an identification, assessment, and analysis of the hazardous activities within Koa’s operations
• Improve existing site induction programs and outline the major hazards and the safety requirements to avoid or control those hazards
• Identify and advise management on deficiencies in the safety performance in the operations
• Develop and implement a factory-based H&S training and development plan based on the needs of the operation and the major hazards identified
• Oversee the quality of induction safety programs being conducted for both the plant employees and third party contractors
• Conduct and coordinate internal and external systems audits to evaluate H&S performance
• Review the existing H&S improvement plan and monitor its implementation
• Ensure relevant documents/records for safety are properly maintained at the plant
• Provide specialist advice on matters relating to H&S
• Ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legal requirements
•  Perform any other duties that may be assigned.

WHO YOU ARE
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or related technical field
• A credible OSH certificate is an added advantage

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least 2-3 years in running environment & occupational health and safety management systems
based on ISO 14001 & 45001

COMPETENCE AND SKILLS

• Basic knowledge in risk-based environment health and safety systems
• Good problem-solving and corrective action/resolution skills
• MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Good multitasking skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
