Job Description

Scope of the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Client Service Manager/Credit Controller at our media organization running multiple radio stations in different locations, with plans of adding on a TV station. This role will involve managing client relationships, ensuring timely payment of invoices, and maintaining financial records related to credit control. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial management processes.

REPORTING LINE: Head of Finance & Corporate Affairs

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, handling inquiries, resolving issues, and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance client relationships and increase revenue generation

Credit Control

  • Manage the credit control process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing to clients.
  • Monitor client payment schedules, following up on overdue accounts, and taking appropriate actions to secure payments
  • Implement and enforce credit control policies and procedures to minimise outstanding
    debt and mitigate credit risks.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts, resolve discrepancies, and provide accurate tinancial reports related to credit control.

Financial Administration

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including contact details, payment terms, and credit limits.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, such as ageing analysis, debtors’ reports, and cash flow projections, to support effective decision-making.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes related to revenue collection and credit control.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure proper recording and allocation of client payments

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the sales team to support client on-boarding, contract negotiations, and
    contract renewals
  • Coordinate with the programming and production teams to ensure the delivery of advertising campaigns and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address client concerns, optimise processes, and Improve service delivery.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance, training, and support
    as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment within the finance department
  • Identify opportunities for professional development and growth for the finance team.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • ACCA/ICAG full or part qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in client service management and credit control, preferably in the media or broadcasting industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial management principles, credit control procedures, and invoicing processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to effectively handle customer inquiries, complaints, and negotiations.
  • Proficient in using financial software and systems for credit control and reporting, preferably Airwatch
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and/or Google Workspace, particularly Google Sheets, and accounting software, preferably SAGE ERP.
