Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior HR Manager to join our dynamic team in the mining sector in Ghana. As
a Senior HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our workforce strategies, fostering a culture of excellence,

JOB STATUS: Full Time

DURATION: Permanent

RESPONSIBILITIES: –

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategic HR Planning: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives and
    business goals. Lead workforce planning initiatives to ensure optimal staffing levels and talent acquisition
    strategies.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management: Oversee the full cycle of recruitment and selection processes, from
    sourcing candidates to onboarding. Implement effective retention strategies to attract and retain top talent in a
    competitive market.
  • Employee Relations: Serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees on all HR-related matters.
    Proactively manage employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary actions in compliance with
    company policies and Ghanaian labor laws.
  • Performance Management: Design and implement performance management systems to drive employee
    engagement, productivity, and accountability. Provide guidance and coaching to managers on performance
    evaluation processes and goal setting.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and develop comprehensive training programs to enhance
    employee skills and competencies. Facilitate leadership development initiatives and succession planning efforts
    to build a pipeline of future leaders.
  •  HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and industry standards. Keep
    abreast of changes in legislation and recommend policy updates as necessary to maintain legal compliance
    and mitigate risks.
  • HR Analytics and Reporting: Utilize HR metrics and analytics to track key performance indicators, identify
    trends, and make data-driven decisions. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on
    HR metrics, initiatives, and outcomes.
  •  Employee Health and Safety: Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to promote a safe and healthy work
    environment. Support the implementation of health and safety programs and initiatives to minimize workplace
    hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
QUALIFICATION:
  • Minimum of 10years of experience as head of HR.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s
    degree or professional certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in HR leadership roles within the mining or extractive industry in Ghana, with a deep
    understanding of sector-specific challenges and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of Ghanaian labor laws, regulations, and best practices related to HR management.
  •  Demonstrated expertise in strategic HR planning, talent acquisition, performance management, and employee
    relations.
  •  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate
    effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and MS Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a track record of driving continuous improvement and
    delivering results.
