Job Title: HR Lead (West Africa)
Job Type: Full time
Job Location: Lagos, Nigeria and Accra, Ghana (Hybrid)
Remuneration: 4.8m – 8.4m Naira Per Annum For Nigerians only.

For candidates in Accra – the Annual Gross Salary range is 84,000 – 132,000 GHS

Work Policy: Doesn’t Sponsors work permit

As an HR lead, your core mandate will be to implement progressive and forward looking practices that help the company attract and retain the best talent and position Garage as the best place to work in Africa. The best candidates will be creative and forward-thinking aspiring leaders who are frustrated by current HR practices in the industry today and are looking for an opportunity to implement new exciting ideas to help us achieve our mandate. Successful candidates must also have the ability to work in a fast paced and rapidly evolving organization. We are very passionate about diversity, equity and Inclusion and will be looking for candidates with concrete well thought out ideas on how to foster these qualities. This role requires you to be based in either Lagos or Accra with the ability to commute across our markets in West Africa when needed.

What does the job involve;
Managing and supporting the various aspects of the life cycle of our hearts at Garage. This includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, wellness and career development.
Develop a recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent, using innovative sourcing and assessment strategies and tools.
Developing, implementing and updating HR policies and employee handbooks that reflect the unique needs of our fast-paced and rapidly evolving organization.
Managing the performance appraisal process.
Developing and implementing managing new and existing employee recognition initiatives such as culture champion and star of the week.
Oversee employee relations and conflict resolution programs.
Design innovative programs and initiatives that drive employee satisfaction, empowers employees to take risks and experiment and leads to industry leading performance across the organization.
Provide coaching and guidance to employees and managers on HR-related matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and career development.
Develop, measure and track key HR metrics that the organization should be assessed on.
Maintain excellent working relationship with all internal stakeholders at the company.
Create public knowledge base about Garage’s innovative HR practices that can shared and consumed by other practitioners.
Any other duties as requested by your supervisors.

Qualifications:
5+ years experience in an HR role at the fast growth tech startup or multinational with proven track record of implementing or proposing forward-thinking ideas.
Bachelor’s degree from a leading university in Africa or globally.
Understanding of employment law and regulations in Ghana and Nigeria.
Advanced strategic and problem solving skills.
Basic data analytics skills.
Excellent communication skills.
