Job Description

You will be responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in overseeing various financial activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and contributing to the overall financial health and compliance of the organization. The Senior Accounts Officer will collaborate closely with other departments and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

• Monitor cash flow, budget, and expense management to ensure prudent financial practices.

• Generate accurate and timely financial reports for management and external stakeholders.

• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

• Coordinate with auditors during financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support.

• Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations and ensure their integration into financial processes.

• Continuously assess and improve accounting processes and internal controls to optimize efficiency and accuracy.

• Manage relationships with vendors and clients, addressing inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely payments and collections.

• Proficiently use accounting software and tools to maintain accurate financial records and generate reports.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA/CMA qualification is a plus.

• Proven experience 5 years as an Accounts Officer or similar role, with a demonstrated track record of financial management and team leadership.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and best practices.

• Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to collaborate across departments.

• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to mentor and develop team members.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
