Retail Sales & Customer Service Manager Job Description

NAYA Naturals Limited(NAYA by Africa) is looking for a Retail Sales Manager to drive growth and manage its operations at its online and physical retail outlets. The candidate should have a passion for sales, brand development, and business analysis and be self-driven. They should be motivated to help NAYA grow by creating a captivating customer experience culture that resonates through our sales activities across all customer touchpoints.

This is a full-time, on-site role for our 2 shops in Accra, retail gondolas in supermarkets, and our E-commerce activities. The Retail Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of sales and customer service, managing the sales team, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining the visual merchandising of the store. The Retail Manager will also be responsible for managing inventory levels, analyzing sales data, developing sales strategies, and meeting sales targets.

You will need excellent communication and people skills and project management skills. The right candidate will also need to be organized, strategic, open-minded, engaging, and have the ability to lead a sales team. You will oversee the development and management of the sales team and their activities to meet planned goals. You will also coordinate with the marketing department to create customer-focused ads that will drive new customer engagement. You will also be tasked with creative approaches to getting into new territories and partnership opportunities to connect with more customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales Operations

a.    Managing day-to-day sales operations at all customer touchpoints (retail shops, supermarkets, social media and website)

b.    Setting and managing monthly retail sales strategies to achieve targets.

c.    Tracking sales goals, strategies, and customer feedback, and reporting results to management weekly.

d.    Engaging customers, understanding their needs to sell, upsell and cross-sell

e.    Order delivery management across all customer touchpoints

f.      Seeking sales events and partnership opportunities to engage new customers and drive sales

2. Customer Experience

a.    Engaging target customers and providing unique experiences for them at all retail touchpoints

b.    Managing customer requests, complaints, and feedback and reporting to management

c.    Finding innovative ways to connect with target audiences by planning and managing monthly events

d.    Developing new ideas for gift sets for different customer types, skin care needs, and occasions.

e.    Analyzing customer behavior and developing strategies to improve customer engagement and loyalty

3. Administration and Business Development

a.    Developing the Sales Team through motivation, improved customer service skills, brand awareness, and product knowledge education.

b.    Monthly sales target monitoring, review, and reporting

c.    Training Sales Team on sales processes, product Information, FAQs

d.    Managing visual merchandising, cleaning, and product arrangement to ensure that retail spaces represent the brand and appeal to customers

e.    Identifying new opportunities for sales and partnerships for the brand

f.      Maintaining retail equipment and assets at all retail locations

g.    Ensure efficient management of inventory, sales supplies, and samples across all retail touchpoints

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Operations, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or experience in Managing Sales or Brand Development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Retail or Brand Management, Marketing, Sales, or Business Development experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team and maintain a positive team culture
  • Strong sales skills and experience developing effective sales strategies
  • Customer satisfaction-focused mindset with the ability to provide product recommendations and educate customers on product features and benefits
  • Experience in inventory management and stock control.
  • Analytical mind, with the ability to utilize data to drive sales growth.
  • Experience in the beauty/health industry is a plus.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Suite and various sales and marketing software is a plus.
  • Proven dynamic leadership and project management skills.
  • Strategic, innovative, and creative personality with a strong business acumen
  • Adept multi-tasker with the ability to quickly prioritize and effectively delegate tasks.
  • Be open to flexible work hours (Evenings, Weekends and Holidays)
