Job Description

  • Location: Namdini Mine Site, Bolgatanga
  • Section/ Unit: Plant Operations
  • Department: Processing
  • Job reports to: Senior Process Plant Supervisor or his designate
  • Direct Reports: None

Job Purpose

To liaise closely with the Plant Supervisors daily to ensure operational efficiency within the Process Plant. The incumbent will be responsible for the designing, conducting training and development programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of employees within the process plant.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop training modules and materials tailored to specific processes.
  • Conduct interactive training sessions and workshops.
  • Assess employees’ performance and provide feedback.
  • Update training materials based on process changes or improvements.
  • Maintain and update employees’ training records.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by the Supervisor based on the exigencies of the Mine operations.

Required Skills or Experience

Minimum qualification (s)

  • Degree /HND in Mineral Engineering/ Chemical Engineering
    / Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
  • Mincom Processing Officer’s Certificate of Competency.
  • Valid Drivers’ License.

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role in the mining or extraction industry.

Knowledge

  • Training Systems development and implementation.
  • Positive environment towards personal and equipment safety, and safe working practices.
  • Hazard identifications skills.
  • Ability to Perform tasks in terms of priority schedule.
  • Knowledge in Gold in Circuit Survey.
  • Ability to trouble shoot technical problems with available instruments and achieve results within time frame.
  • Knowledge of available technology for calibrating instruments and record
  • Knowledge in gold extraction through CIL.
  • Knowledge of mill relining, sampling techniques and preparation procedures.
  • Knowledge of Crushing, Milling and Classification, production statistics.
  • Knowledge of Flotation, UFG and thickening.
  • Supervisory experience in culturally sensitive environments.

Skills

  • Proven experience as a process trainer or similar role.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct individual training needs analysis.
  • Familiarity with modern training techniques and tools.
  • Strong organizational and team management skill.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and written at all levels of the organization.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and to take initiatives.

Production & Safety

  • Ability to create positive environment towards personal and equipment safety, and safe working practices.
  • Ability to ensure operational optimum performance is achieved by the Flotation & CIL plant.
  • Ability to ensure that sampling techniques and sample preparation procedures are correct and in accordance with standard practices.
  • Provide training support to the operations daily.
  • Comply with all statutory Company safety rules and regulations.
  • Adherence to the site safet manuals and assist in the training of operators in the safe practices of chemical handling.
