Job Description

Responsible for supervising product transfer operations within the terminal and jetty.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the safe and effective execution of the operational activities related to loading/discharging of vessels, storage and all other handling of petroleum products as done by the shifts;
  • Assists in preparing the plans for the execution of the operational activities for the coming 24 – 72 hours;
  • Ensure consistent cleaning and maintenance as well as adherence to all safety standards
  • Receive cargo and ensure timely sampling, loading and unloading of cargo
  • Monitor loading and unloading of products and advise shift supervisors about safe operations
  • Ensures the safe execution of operations, in line with internal and external procedures and (international) guidelines;
  • Has a managing role during emergency response in case of incidents.
  • Handles storage by aligning setting up tanks, pumps and pipelines for product transfer purposes
  • Communicates with internal staff and external instances (surveyors, terminals, ship staff) about the preparation of operations;
  • Supports the execution of the maintenance activities;
  • Maintain knowledge of industry terminal regulations and ensure that procedures are performed in accord with them
  • Handle tank gauging activities and troubleshoot faulty terminal processes
  • Ensures proper administration of the results of the execution of operations;
  • Handle stock balancing and reporting activities

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Must be a Bachelors’ Degree holder in a related Technical discipline, A Masters’ Degree in Oil & Gas will be an advantage
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Senior Management Position in Oil & Gas related operations and maintenance (terminal, offshore, tank ship);
  • Must have all legally required certifications and trainings;
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have excellent computer skills (MS Office);
  • Must have proven leadership skills;
  • Must be a hands-on mentality, problem solver, demonstrate reasoning ability and use of basic reasoning, thinking “on your feet”, and ability to resolve issues quickly.
