JOB TITLE: RESEARCH ASSOCIATE (BOLGATANGA)

REPORTS TO: Director, Research and Innovation

NATURE OF JOB: Full Time

JOB DESCRIPTION: To assist the software development team to develop software solutions including -governance solutions to achieve the Centre’s objective of developing software solutions for national development.

Educational Qualification (s) & Professional Membership:

• BSc. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering + 3yrs experience + Postgraduate/Professional Cert in IT
• BSc. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering + 4yrs experience as Programmer Associate or equivalent
• MSc. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering + 2yrs experience as Programmer Associate or equivalent
• Master’s degree /Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or Equivalent

Experience Required:

• A minimum of 2 years working experience in Programming.

Competencies Required:

• Analytical skills i.e. able to analyse complex instructions to create computer code.

• Full Stack developer in 3 key technologies such as PHP, Python, Java
  EE. etc..
• Proficient in the following Operation Systems: Unix, Linux, Microsoft Windows

• Proficient in the following database technologies: MySQL, Oracle,
  MSSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL

• Proficient in using design languages like UML

• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Provide support for Software Quality Assurance (Testing).

• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, Gogs or
  SVN
• Good working knowledge of HTNL5, CSS, React, Angular, Vue, NPM and Svelte

In addition, the Research Associate MUST have the ability to lecture in at least one of the following areas.

• Web Application Development: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Django,
  PHP, Laravel, Node,js, React, JQuery, Angular, ESS and ES6.
• Enterprise Programming: Core Java, Java EE, Java Server Pages (ISP),
  Maven, Hibernate, Spring framework, Java Database Connectivity (0DBC)
• Network and Internetworking: CCNA, CCNP
• IT Security: Network Information: Computing Infrastructure Systems 8
• Security (CISS), Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation (ENSA),
• Introduction to Networks (IT), Network Information Security (NIS),
• Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials (SWE), and CISA.
• Big Data: R Programming, Python for Data Science, Apache Spark and Big Data Technologies
