Job Description

Our client is an independent boutique advisory firm specialising in creating bespoke financial solutions ranging from deal origination, structuring, capital raising through to risk mitigation, with a focus on Africa and other emerging markets.

The Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Analyst to join their Corporate Finance team. The
Financial/Investment Analyst’s responsibilities include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes,
analysing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing information memos/pitch decks,
preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership for the capital raising and
advisory activities of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

 

Reviewing and analysing financial statements and reports.
Conducting due diligence on companies and industries by researching, reading financial statements and market data.
Assisting with budgeting and monthly close processes.
Assisting project teams with financial guidance.
Developing financial projections and building financial models.
Performing research and analysis as required.
Preparing information memorandums and placement/selling documents.
Putting together professional-looking presentations and conveying convincing recommendations.
Ensuring compliance with financial guidelines, company policies, and relevant legal regulations.

Education, Experience & Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, maths, accounting, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modelling.
MBA or higher degree in finance or related subject or CFA certification will be an added advantage.
Understanding corporate strategy and key business drivers.
Ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
Working knowledge of financing and financial strategies.
Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (with advanced skill in financial modeling using Excel) and SAP, Oracle, or related
financial systems.
