Job Description for an Audit Assistant:

An accounting firm is looking for audit assistant who will be responsible for supporting the audit team in conducting financial and operational audits. He or she will work under the supervision of the audit manager and assist in the planning, execution, and reporting of audit assignments. Key responsibilities are as follows:

• Assist in planning and preparing audit programs and procedures.
• Conduct preliminary research and gather relevant data for the audit.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing financial and operational data.
• Prepare working papers and audit reports.
• Ensure compliance with audit policies, procedures, and standards.
• Assist in communicating audit findings to management and recommending corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate and complete audit documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the senior auditor/audit manager.

Qualifications:

• Partly qualified or qualified CA, Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of auditing standards (ISA) and procedures.
• Knowledge of accounting standards (IRS)
• Knowledge of Companies Act 2019 (Act 992)
• Knowledge of Tax Laws (Income Tax Act 2015, (Act 896) and its amendments
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing audit requirements.
