The Company

GFA Consulting Limited is a corporate finance boutique based in Accra, Ghana and specialized in fundraising advisory for companies that operate in West and Central Africa (see www.gfa- consulting.com). As at April2024, we have fundraising mandates in Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Uganda, Kenya, Cameroon and Congo. We also propose origination and business assessment services to private equity funds investing in Africa, and we work with international development agencies that are implementing business support programs for SMEs.

Position overview

 We are seeking a talented and proactive individual to join our Fundraising Advisory Team as an intern for a period of minimum two (2) months. The Intern will play a crucial role in conducting research, working on fundraising mandates, completing investment-readiness assessments, and support the Fundraising Advisory Team in all its origination and project execution efforts.

Key responsibilities

 Collaborate with the Fundraising Advisory Team to support fundraising mandates for SME clients, including preparing pitch decks, financial models, and investment teasers.

  • Conduct comprehensive investment readiness assessments of businesses operating in Africa, using our proprietary business diagnostic tool.
  • Provide strategic business support to SME clients, including market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and operational improvement
  • Conduct market studies and industry research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential for clients’ businesses.
  • Assist with origination and business development efforts, including prospecting, client outreach, and relationship
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and other deliverables to communicate findings and recommendations to clients and
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution and delivery of client
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory developments relevant to fundraising, the private equity industry, and SME

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g. CFA) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and investment
  • Excellent research and market analysis capabilities, with the ability to synthetize complex information into actionable
  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, client-driven environment with tight deadlines and competing
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with internal
  • Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).
  • Fluency in French (written and spoken) would be a decisive advantage, as some assignments are conducted in francophone

Remuneration

1,500 GHS to 2,000 GHS net monthly salary, depending on the experience (in the event of relevant previous internship experiences).

Starting date and location

 We are looking for the Intern to start as early as possible at GFA Consulting’s offices at 9, Walnut Street, off A&C Mall road, in East Legon.
