Job Description
JOB TITLE: FINANCE OFFICER
HOURS: FULL TIME; MONDAY – FRIDAY, 8AM – 5PM;
EXTRA HOURS MAY BE REQUIRED
DURATION: PERMANENT
START DATE: AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Report directly to the CEO, to assess and report all key operational issues, while also being granted authority and discretion to execute many day-to-day decisions.
- Act as primary bridge and point of contact with the staff and management to ensure smooth operations of the facility including:
- Finance (Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable), Monthly Bank Reconciliation, etc.
- Payroll/Benefits processing
- Development and management of operational budgets
- Serving as primary liaison to legal counsel in addressing legal issues e.g. copyright, antitrust, governing instruments, partnerships, licensing, etc.
- Preparing and presenting periodic Management reports within specified timelines
- Payment and filing of SSNIT as well as all statutorily required taxes and levies including withholding tax, PAYE, etc. within the statutorily required timelines.
- Maintain speed and accuracy of billings and client payments
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- An analytical mind and ability to stick to timelines
- Knowledge of and ability to learn new accounting and related software (knowledge in Xero is an advantage.)
- Good knowledge of the requirements of Bank of Ghana, and other regulatory agencies
- Experience in financial modeling using Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication skills – both written and verbal
- A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field
- 2+ years proven experience in a similar role.
