Job Description
Role: Finance Manager
Subsidiary: Goldkey Properties Limited
Purpose of the Job:
- The incumbent will report to the Head Finance and be responsible for providing senior level accounting to all companies in terms of Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Compliance.
- Analyze and monitor accounting transactions for compliance with policies, procedures, and statutory regulations as well as identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly flash report by the 3rd of each month.
- Prepare draft monthly BRM report by the 18th,
- Prepare draft quarterly Board pack by the 25th after the quarter ends.
- Prepare draft monthly management account by the 12th of the following month.
- Prepare draft annual financial statement by the 31st of January.
- Ensure entities are audit-ready two weeks before fieldwork.
- Coordinate with external auditors.
- Assist in budgetary process starting in September; draft budget by October.
- Ensure effective budget utilization; review payment requests.
- Prepare monthly budget variance report by the 13th.
- Ensure timely statutory filings and payments.
- Maintain compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure insurance coverage for assets and renewal of Data Protection Agency certificate.
- Achieve month-end book closing cut-off by the 10th of the following month.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of all intercompany balances
- Timely posting of loan-related transactions.
- Maintain payroll software; prepare and process payroll monthly.
- Maintain fixed assets register.
- Ensure electronic filing of documents.
- Complete quarterly CIT filings and statutory tax filings.
- Assist with budget preparations and variance report explanations.
- Ensure all Statutory filings (PAYE, SSF, withholding tax, VAT, Quarterly CIT) and payments are process d by the due dates.
- Ensure renewal of Data Protection Agency certificate.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business administration.
Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICA, or CIMA) with at least five years of relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:
- In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Sound knowledge of business practices in the real estate industry.
- Sound knowledge of budgeting.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Knowledge of the Sun System.
- In-depth research and strong analytical skills.
- Good communications skills (verbal and written).
- Resilient.
- Methodical, accurate, pays attention to detail.
- Results-orientated, adheres to turn-around times/deadlines.
- Customer service-orientated.
- Team player – ability to work closely with all key stakeholders.
