Job Description

Role: Finance Manager
Subsidiary: Goldkey Properties Limited

Purpose of the Job:

  • The incumbent will report to the Head Finance and be responsible for providing senior level accounting to all companies in terms of Financial Reporting, Budgeting & Compliance.
  • Analyze and monitor accounting transactions for compliance with policies, procedures, and statutory regulations as well as identify weaknesses and opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly flash report by the 3rd of each month.
  • Prepare draft monthly BRM report by the 18th,
  • Prepare draft quarterly Board pack by the 25th after the quarter ends.
  • Prepare draft monthly management account by the 12th of the following month.
  • Prepare draft annual financial statement by the 31st of January.
  • Ensure entities are audit-ready two weeks before fieldwork.
  • Coordinate with external auditors.
  • Assist in budgetary process starting in September; draft budget by October.
  • Ensure effective budget utilization; review payment requests.
  • Prepare monthly budget variance report by the 13th.
  • Ensure timely statutory filings and payments.
  • Maintain compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure insurance coverage for assets and renewal of Data Protection Agency certificate.
  • Achieve month-end book closing cut-off by the 10th of the following month.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of all intercompany balances
  • Timely posting of loan-related transactions.
  • Maintain payroll software; prepare and process payroll monthly.
  • Maintain fixed assets register.
  • Ensure electronic filing of documents.
  • Complete quarterly CIT filings and statutory tax filings.
  • Assist with budget preparations and variance report explanations.
  • Ensure all Statutory filings (PAYE, SSF, withholding tax, VAT, Quarterly CIT) and payments are process d by the due dates.
  • Ensure renewal of Data Protection Agency certificate.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, or business administration.
    Chartered Accountant (ACCA, ICA, or CIMA) with at least five years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

  • In-depth understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Sound knowledge of business practices in the real estate industry.
  • Sound knowledge of budgeting.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Knowledge of the Sun System.
  • In-depth research and strong analytical skills.
  • Good communications skills (verbal and written).
  • Resilient.
  • Methodical, accurate, pays attention to detail.
  • Results-orientated, adheres to turn-around times/deadlines.
  • Customer service-orientated.
  • Team player – ability to work closely with all key stakeholders.
