Job Description

4WardWA Development West Africa (4WardWA) provides high-quality water services through kiosks, Pump Insurance (PiN), household and business connections, and packaged water services for wholesale, retail, and individual consumption.

The Finance & Logistics Assistant will be responsible for assisting the Regional Finance & Procurement Officer in executing their financial and logistical duties within the organization. This role involves overseeing financial transactions, including budgeting, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounts payable and receivable.

Additionally, the Finance & Logistics Assistant ensures the smooth functioning of the organization’s supply chain and logistics by coordinating and managing inventory, procurement, transportation, and distribution.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting with financial accounting tasks such as data entry, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate transactions

  • Aiding in the preparation of financial documents and reports

  • Assisting in managing fixed assets and inventory

  • Supporting procurement activities, including vendor communication and record-keeping

  • Assisting in supply chain coordination, transportation and logistics

  • Participating in basic budget planning and preparation

  • Assisting with compliance tasks and documentation

  • Providing support for financial document storage and accessibility

  • Collaborating with higher-level finance and supply chain personnel.

    Assists in Bank/Cashbook reconciliations

  • Completes company statutory obligation schedules to appropriate authorities

  • Enters data into General Ledger and ensures that only complete, accurate and properly authorized transactions are entered into the system (Quick Books)

  • Scans and stores financial documents for the regions and makes them accessible to the National Office, Auditors and Grant funders

  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum qualification of BSc/HND in Finance or Logistics, Business Administration or any other related field with at least 3 years’ experience.

REPORTING

Reporting to the Finance & Procurement Manager through the Regional Finance & Logistics Officer

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment – Office – Standard Office Environment; Must live in Daboase, Takoradi, and surrounding areas.

Physical Demands – Sitting, standing, and/or walking for up to 8 hours per day. The total working hours in a week is 40 hours. Should work be done during evenings and weekends, the SDO will be compensated with an equal amount of time off.

Travel Requirements: Minimal travel is required for this role
