sustainably. With offices currently in Accra & Kumasi, Legendary Foods seeks to advance its technology, launch new products and penetrate additional markets across Africa & beyond.

Role Description: Legendary Foods is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Factory Manager to oversee the efficient and effective operation of our cookie and condiment manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader with a proven track record in managing all aspects of production, ensuring product quality, an driving continuous improvement. The Factory Manager will play a critical role in achieving production targets, maintaining cost efficiency, scaling up the company’s output and contributing to the overall growth and success of the company.

Responsibilities:

● Production Management:
o Develop and implement production plans to meet volume and quality targets.
o Monitor and analyze production metrics to identify areas for improvement.
o Ensure efficient utilization of resources and adherence to production schedules.
o Lead efforts to optimize production processes for increased efficiency.
o Maintenance and Technicians Team Management:

▪ 1-Oversee and manage day-to-day functioning of processing equipment
▪ 2-Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance activities are executed as per schedule.
o Regularly collaborate with the Quality Control manager to establish and execute quality control processes to maintain consistent product quality and safety

● Cost Management:
o Manage cost of goods sold (COGS) to achieve profitability.
o Implement cost-effective strategies without compromising product quality.
o Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive initiatives to reduce
production costs.
● Inventory Management:
o Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
o Implement inventory control measures to prevent shortages and excesses.
o Work closely with procurement to ensure a consistent and reliable supply chain.
● Team Management:
o Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing production team.
o Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
o Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team
members.
● Scaling Operations:
o Lead efforts in scaling up production volumes to meet growing demand.
o Collaborate with the leadership team on strategic decisions related to
scale-up initiatives.
o Commission new equipment and technology to enhance production capabilities.

● Equipment Procurement:
o Collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the procurement of new equipment.
o Evaluate and recommend investments in new technology to improve efficiency.
o Work closely with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and ensure timely delivery.

● Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure a safe working environment by implementing and enforcing safety protocols.
o Stay updated on industry regulations and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
o Collaborate with regulatory agencies to maintain product safety and quality.

● Reporting and Analysis:
o Prepare regular reports on production performance, costs, and inventory levels.
o Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
o Provide recommendations and ways to implement recommendations based on data analysis.

Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
● Proven experience of at least 8 years in a managerial role within a food manufacturing environment.
● Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
● In-depth knowledge of production processes and quality control standards.
● Ability to manage teams, shifts, and scheduling.
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
● Familiarity with procurement processes and equipment commissioning.
● Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
● Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in the food industry.
