Job Description

Job Position: Deputy Quality Manager

Reports: Quality Manager

The Urologist is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with disorders of the urinary tract and male reproductive system. The Specialist will provide expert medical care, perform surgical procedures, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality of patient care.

Role Summary:

The Deputy Quality Manager is responsible for implementation of the Hospital clinical governance framework, its pillars and related clinical governance standards, policies, processes, systems, guidelines & training. The incumbent will support in driving compliance to the OHS Act, company/industry requirements and other applicable legislation, within the Hospital. Lastly, the incumbent will implement quality improvement initiatives, projects, and clinical quality statistics/reporting together with key members of the hospital management team, including HODs and Unit Managers. 

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Monitor all departments’ quality improvement programs which includes but not limited to: 
    • Monitor all departments’ quality improvement programs which includes but not limited to: 
    • conducting weekly clinical audits for all clinical departments 
    • Supervising patients’ documentation audit 
    • attending weekly clinical meetings and discussing audit findings to guide the treatment process. 
  • Manage and collate quality improvement and risk reports quarterly. 
  • Support in the development, maintenance, and implementation of plans to achieve quality improvements goals. 
  • Facilitate all quality improvement training. 
  • Constantly be aware of work process problems or bottlenecks that prevent the achievement of goals, objectives, and targets. 
  • Take appropriate action in improving any process that will allow the reduction of cost and/or improvement to quality, service, and productivity. 
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading publications on quality management, maintaining personal networks etc. 
  • Monitor own performance against agreed objectives and targets. 
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned. 
  • Provide strong leadership to the health and safety team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. 
  • Develop team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback. 
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to quality and continuous improvement. 
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor customer Service Officers and other staff members.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in quality management or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance or a related field. 
  • Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role. 
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficient in quality management software and tools. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and lead a team.
