JOB SUMMARY:
The Procurement officer will be responsible for providing technical and operational support to the procurement department by working closely with vendors and suppliers.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting market research to find the best options from both local and international markets.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring reliable and quality supply chains.
- Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of goods and services, review inventory, and update as required.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Negotiate, review where necessary, and monitor contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and resolve contract disputes as and when such arise.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, procedures, and legal regulations such as maintaining proper documentation for audit reports
- Collaborate with the finance department to manage budgets and track expenditures.
- Establish Credit relationships with suppliers for a substantive amount of time to manage cash flow.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Procurement, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPP) are a plus
- minimum 3 years of experience in procurement and supply management.
- Experience in international procurement in the civil and marine engineering industry is preferred.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
