Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Company: Webster University Ghana

Location: Accra, Greater Accra, Ghana

The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization’s human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance and advice to campus management on human resource related issues
  • Initiate all HR policies and enforcement in consultation with home campus office and Ghana Director
  • Coordinate all recruitment and selection activities
  • Lead all onboarding and off boarding activities for employees, providing guidance on contracts and other employee documentation
  • Identify training and development needs of faculty and staff; plan activities over the year to meet these needs including an annual retreat for staff. Coordinate annual global mandatory trainings
  • Prepare, plan and implement an annual performance review process
  • Mediate grievances as well as disciplinary processes together with the appropriate department head
  • Prepare annual HR budget
  • Organize and integrate international visitors and/or faculty. This involves, planning travel itineraries, issuing of introductory letters for visas, preparing contracts when needed, accommodation arrangements, etc.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management or a Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in Human Resources
  • Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
  • Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
  • Attention to detail and good judgement
  • A professional certification in Human Resource Management will be an added advantage
  • Appreciable knowledge of the Ghana Labor law and other relevant laws governing workers in Ghana
  • Experience working in a multicultural and fast paced environment

Duration

Two-year contract (renewable based upon performance)
