Job Title: Workshop Manager

Qualification: Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Job Description:

This role requires strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair, and a commitment to excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:

• Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems and discuss work to be performed
• Estimate costs and time required for repair or maintenance of vehicles
• Plan, organize, and coordinate the day-to-day running of the garage
• Repair, maintain, and service vehicles, including their mechanical and electronic components
• Ensure availability of necessary spare parts, materials, and equipment
• Check garage activities, inspect completed work for compliance with safety and statutory regulations, and ensure defects are repaired
• Maintain records of repair and service work, and make reports to detect recurrent faults
• Ensure vehicles are returned to owners in a clean and decent state
• Provide information on latest developments, technical specifications, and garage merchandise to staff
• Organize regular client visits to promote good customer and business relations
• Present bi-weekly reports and forecasts on workshop performance to the Technical Director and team
• Increase workshop sales revenue, corporate customer inflow, and individual clientele inflow by 5% annually
• Maintain a customer retention rate of not less than 85% annually

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar role
• Strong knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Ability to estimate repair costs and manage budgets
• Proficiency in using garage management software
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively
• Proximity to Accra or willingness to relocate
