Job Description

Programmes/Events Officer

Location: Accra, Ghana

Salary: Negotiable

The successful applicant in consultation with the Executive Secretary will support management of both internal and external projects as approved by the Executive Committee of the Institute. Key activities include supporting the Executive Secretary and the various committees of the Institute on the planning and implementation of existing and new business processes and management information.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Professional Development, Education and Accreditation
    Committee to package all training programmes
    Create awareness of all training programmes to both members and non-members of the Institute. Sell the Institute’s programmes and services to institutions and individuals, following up to ensure high uptake.
  • Maintain a database of members and subscribers to the Institute’s services.
    Coordinate off-site events and programmes
  • Develop written materials including press releases, Q&A, media holding
    statements on brand and corporate issues as required. Build relationships with key media contacts and identify opportunities to proactively pitch brand and corporate stories for the Institute.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programmes and communicate results back toExecutive Secretary.
  • Deliver the technical support required for virtual programmes of work as and when required.
  • Co-ordinate the logistics and organisation of events/activities relevant to a project/programme; including programme materials, slides, briefings, templates and information packs; data management and references.
  • Actively contribute to effective communication within the secretariat team and with others across the Institute.
  • Actively learn and develop to stay up to date with developments in area of expertise and to meet the changing needs of the job, team and Institute by participating in appraisal and appropriate learning activities
  • Encourage and support the development of others, the team and the Institute by engaging in and contributing to the Institute as a learning organisation and to its positive culture.
  • Represents the secretariat team and Institute in a professional and positive manner with both internal and external stakeholders and in doing so reflect the values of the Institute.
  • Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required, and are commensurate with the grade of the job, in furtherance of the objectives of the Institute.
  • Shall be responsible for managing the Institute’s website and all Digital media channels for impact and results
  • Ensures compliance with the Institute’s policies, procedures and contract of employment.
