Instill Education is on a mission to transform teaching, learning, and leadership in every classroom on the African continent. We believe that our teachers and school leaders are the greatest levers for change in the education system.  We recently became an accredited higher education institution in South Africa and launched a game-changing mobile app that offers self-paced, bite-sized modules to help teachers in the professional development journey. More than 50,000 teachers in South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, and Nigeria have already enrolled in our professional development modules and joined a pan-African community of peers and experts who provide support and feedback along the way.

We are looking for a Head of Impact and Data to drive data collection and analysis that informs the impact of the organization’s mission and vision.

What does the role entail?

As Head of Impact and Data, you will be responsible for leading the company’s impact strategy and for measuring and reporting on its social and educational impact. You will also be responsible for working with our partners to ensure that the company’s impact is measured, maximised.  More specifically, you will be responsible for;

  • Develop and implement the organisation’s impact goals, strategies, assessment frameworks and methodologies
  • Led as an internal consultant and expert on evidence-based performance evaluations to inform programme, product, and academic designs
  • Assist in the design and implementation of strategies to maximise the organisation’s impact while balancing its profitability and sustainability targets.
  • Support the organisation in effectively communicating its impact to stakeholders, including investors, customers, and the wider community.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to maximize the company’s impact.
  • Represent the organisation in relevant industry forums, conferences, and working groups.
  • Lead the design and implementation of events, dialogues and contribute to galvanise the education communities and stakeholders we work with.
  • Lead and facilitate learning exchanges internally and externally to improve the impact and reach of our products.
  • Uses technology and learning cadences to establish organisational trends and needs.

Selection Criteria:

  • Master’s degree in a related field, such as social impact, development studies, or educational management, preferably in the Pan-African context
  • 5+ years of experience in impact measurement and reporting (ideally in a for-profit setting or a venture capital-backed startup).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in a developing country context.
  • Proficiency in using impact measurement and evaluation tools and methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with diverse stakeholders.
  • Passion for social impact and commitment to the mission and values of the organisation.

Anticipated start: TBC

Location: Flexible in either Accra, Lagos, or Nairobi
