GENERAL MANAGER – MEDICAL SUPPLIES

Background:

Sahel Health (‘Sahel”) is a platform company aimed at developing dialysis care and renal treatment centers across West and Central Africa. Based on our experience in procurement and consumables supplies over the past 3 years, Sahel Health is establishing an affiliate to focus on medical supplies and sales to other medical facilities in West and Central Africa, starting with dialysis, dental and orthodontal consumables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for building and managing a commercially successful medical supplies business in West and Central Africa;
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with international suppliers of good quality medical suppliers for procurement of supplies for sales to medical facilities;
• Seeking opportunities for Sahel to be the local agent or franchise for reputable medical consumables and equipment suppliers;
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with medical facilities across the West and Central African region, establishing Sahel as their supplier of choice;
• Negotiating and documenting supplies and sales contracts across the region.
• Manage the logistics and supplies for the Sahel Health dialysis centers and affiliate dental and orthodontal facilities;
• Monitor performance of supplies activities using key metrics and prepare reports for the Group Managing Director and Owners;
• Managing a team of marketing, sales, and logistics personnel in the region.

Position Qualifications:

• Education: MBA or equivalent degree.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years’ business executive experience in medical procurement and sales;
• Experience in dialysis or dental/orthodontics consumables supplies;
• Experience managing teams in multiple countries and locations a plus.
• Other Qualities: Strong relationship building skills; strong analytical skills; strong contract negotiation and management skills.
