GFX Brokers, a leading securities trading company in Accra, Ghana, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Compliance Manager to join our team. As a Compliance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the company’s adherence to regulatory standards and maintaining our reputation for integrity and excellence.

About the role:

The Compliance Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining a high-performing work environment at GFX. Their primary objective is to proactively monitor and mitigate reputational risks across all teams including sales, trading, operations settlements, and finance. Reporting directly to the board and regulators, the Compliance Manager ensures full compliance with all laws, regulations, and internal policies. They are tasked with actively monitoring and mitigating conduct and reputational risks.

Utilizing Salesforce, our client management software system, the Compliance Manager oversees the onboarding process and manages our opportunities pipeline efficiently. This role is instrumental in safeguarding GFX’s integrity and reputation in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a robust compliance risk management plan, addressing regulatory, conduct, and reputational risks.
  • Serve as the key risk owner, maintaining detailed risk assessments and regulatory risk registers.
  • Conduct monthly assurance testing on key regulatory risks and ensure all reporting requirements are met.
  • Act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer, overseeing AML systems and controls and providing regular reporting to senior management.
  • Manage stakeholder relations, including interactions with statutory regulators and maintaining compliance with relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead internal compliance initiatives, including training programs and adherence to organizational values and procedures.
  • Stay updated on new regulatory requirements and provide impact analysis and necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Graduate/postgraduate qualification in law, finance, business management, or related field from a well-recognized institution.
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in a compliance role, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of legal requirements, statutory regulations, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with effective leadership abilities.
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Confidence and assertiveness in driving compliance initiatives.
  • Ability to work
