Job Description

Bookkeeper

Involves maintaining accurate financial records, tracking financial transactions, and ensuring the integrity of financial data for an organization.

Responsibilities Includes;

  • Maintain and update financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll
  • Record financial transactions accurately, including invoices, receipts, disbursements, and journal
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accurate accounting of cash balances and identify discrepancies
  • Calculate employee wages, taxes, and deductions, and ensure timely payroll processing and compliance with payroll regulation
  • Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other reports as
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data by reviewing and verifying entries, resolving discrepancies, and implementing interna lcontrol

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Higher National Diploma in accounting or equivalent is required
  • Bookkeeping Experience: Practical experience in bookkeeping or a similar role, preferably in a business or organizational
  • Knowledge of Accounting Principles: Familiarity with basic accounting principles and practices, including an understanding of debits and credits, general ledger entries, and financial s
  • Proficiency in Bookkeeping Software: Experience using bookkeeping software or accounting systems for data entry, record-keeping, and financial reporting Knowledge of software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage is beneficial.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and organizing financial data, ensuring precision in calculations and documentation
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Numerical Aptitude: Strong numerical aptitude and mathematical skills to perform calculations, reconcile accounts, and analyze financial
  • Ethics and Confidentiality: Ability to maintain the highest ethical standards and confidentiality in handling financial and sensitive information
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, and answer queries from clients.
