The potential candidate must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the precise field. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Ability to work with little or no supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to the manager.

The Accountant responsibilities Include:

  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process;
  • Audit financial transactions and resolving discrepancies;
  • Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance;
  • Analyze financial information and summarize financial status;
  • Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options;
  • Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results;
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process;
  • Plan, assign, and review staff’s work as well as managing colleagues;
  • Prepare financial statements and provide budget according to schedule;
  • Communicate with Management on work status and client issues that arise;
  • Ensure timely bank payments and Reconcile accounts payable and receivable;
  • Preparing and reporting financial data on monthly, quarterly and yearly bases;
  • Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information;
  • Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary;
  • Comply with financial policies, regulations, statutory obligations and providing tax planning services;
  • Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information;
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls;
  • Initiate, Review and maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures;
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and generally accepted accounting procedures;
  • Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports periodically.

Skills, Attributes and Experience:
Our ideal colleague will have the following skills, attributes and experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards, gaining experience in researching as it relates to accounting issues
  • Experience with accounting software is a plus
  • Awareness of business trends
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A good command of the English language, both written and spoken.
  • An appreciable working experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work under pressure with or without supervision.
  • Must be available to start work immediately.
  • Willingness to work during odd hours sometimes.
  • A great passion for Agriculture.
