Job Title: Power Engineer
Reports To: Operations and Maintenance Manager
JOB PURPOSE
• Operation, maintenance, renovation, and repair of telecom and other IT systems power in a data center facility, POP and cell sites.
• Ensuring the highest levels of power systems and infrastructure availability
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical
• Identify maintenance priorities and handle Maintenance and Engineering repairs.
• Check electric power system reliability to maximize performance level.
• Analyze Systems Operations data and systems.
• Designing electrical systems or their components.
• Diagnosing and solving electrical problems with products or systems.
• Installing, servicing, calibrating and updating electrical systems.
• Repairing or replacing faulty electrical parts of a product.
• Developing and testing electrical system prototypes or simulated events and
making modifications if required.
• Conducting inspections to ensure that products or systems are in a safe and
usable condition.
• Liaise with vendors and other colleagues for problem resolution
• Maintain positive client relationships
Qualification/Work Experience
• The candidate should possess a bachelor’s in electrical/electronic engineering,
telecommunication engineering or any related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in NOC operations
Technical Competencies
• Excellent understanding of telecom and IT power systems
• Support, configuration, maintenance and upgrading of all networks and infrastructures
power installations
• Manage power solutions reliability/availability
• Power solutions analysis and routine troubleshooting
• Maintaining the stability of the core network
• Engaging in on-call rotation shifts 24/7 whenever necessary
• Identification and prevention of any potential issues regarding the network
• Knowledge of networks / systems power requirement growth analysis and capacity
planning processes and techniques.
