General Job Information

Job Title: NOC Engineer
Reports To: Operations and Maintenance Manager

JOB PURPOSE
• Installing, configuring, testing and maintaining operating systems, application
software and system management tools
• Ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Monitor IT and network environment, and ensure that the uptime and
connectivity of the nodes/systems are seamless 24/7.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical
• Resolve any issues related to servers, networks and telecommunications by
consistently troubleshooting and monitoring.
• Strict monitoring of multiple networks and systems, maintain uptime for all IT
systems.
• Consistently monitor network/systems errors and make decisions in order to
maintain o efficiency and an ideal network.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Participate in the design of networks and operational support systems
• Provide 2nd level support
• Manage system back-ups
• Vendor ticket management
• Network analysis and routine troubleshooting
• Liaise with vendors and other colleagues for problem resolution
• Maintain positive client relationships

Qualification/Work Experience
• The candidate should possess a bachelor’s in electrical/electronic engineering,
telecommunication engineering or any related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in NOC operations

Technical Competencies
• Excellent understanding of technologies, operating systems, networking, anti-virus, backups, systems and firewalls
• Voice and video data management
• Support, configuration, maintenance and upgrading of all networks and infrastructures
for corporations
• Power failure monitoring
• Manage system back-ups
• Vendor ticket management
• Network analysis and routine troubleshooting
• Maintaining the stability of the core network
• Engaging in on-call rotation shifts 24/7 whenever necessary
• Identification and prevention of any potential issues regarding the network
• Knowledge of networks growth analysis and capacity planning processes and techniques.
