Job Description

SENIOR RELATIONSHIP MANAGER
Role Purpose
•   This role involves the supervision of a team of Relationship Managers tasked with the responsibility of carrying out the following;
•   managing and retaining a portfolio of corporate customers
•   securing new customer business
•   increasing wallet share of existing business while building and sustaining long term relationships founded on trust, reliable and efficient support

Duties and Responsibilities
Provide leadership for the relationship management team regarding the following;
Sales and Service
•   Developing and maintaining call plans for all customers thus ensuring regular and sustained contact with customers.
•   Maintaining a well-developed working knowledge of complete line of corporate products and services offered, taking responsibility to keep up-to-date and request assistance for further development of needs
•   Proactively initiating sales and cross sell full range of corporate banking products and services to existing and prospective customers
•   Promoting excellent customer relations by consistently providing premier customer satisfaction with a friendly demeanor, can do attitude and willingness to help at all times.
•   Undertaking annual and or interim reviews of borrowing facilities  and non-borrowing clients.
•  Engaging with customers to discuss financial needs and making recommendations
•   Dealing with customers’ complaints and problems with a view to finding working solutions to the issues
Business Development & Monitoring
•   Prospecting, creating, following up and maintaining a target list of potential clients.
•   Actively working call plans and any other means for obtaining new business and retaining current business.
•   Identifying priority customers by accessing their present and potential contributions
•   Gathering all the information needed to prepare and access credit applications
•   Assisting in the analyses of credit and financial information for processing customer loans and other bank products for customers.
•   Researching industry sectors within the portfolio and determine potential business prospects and associated risk. Such information should be made available on the intra department network.
•   Managing potential and existing problem accounts.
•   Controlling and monitoring Assets within the team’s portfolio
•   Ensuring adherence to Credit Policy Manual and guidelines.
People Management
•   Training of Team-members
•   Day to day coaching of team members

Qualification and Experience
•   A minimum of a University Degree in Business or Equivalent Qualification
·   Minimum of 8 experience in Similar role and Relevant Industry
·   Relationship Management experience in a senior position (4 years in a Team-lead position) providing relationship management or financial services to a portfolio of corporate customers
·   Good appreciation of financial statements and their analysis
