Duties and Responsibilities:

The Accounts Officer is responsible for providing financial information in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial operations. The Accounts Officer must comply with established accounting policies and maintain financial security by following Homefoods internal controls and procedures. He/she must have a strong tax background.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure the timely and accurate recording and posting of entries to the sales and purchase ledgers.
• Manage the accounts receivable and payable functions in a timely manner and resolving any queries to these accounts.
•  Ensure all payroll taxes and other statutory deductions are processed and settled on time.
• Assist with the preparation of month end and year end accounts.
• Undertake bank, invoice and debtor reconciliations.
• Ensure timely collection of all outstanding account receivables.
• Maintain accurate VAT records and complete monthly VAT returns in a timely manner.
• Prepare daily sales invoices.
• Produce monthly aged debtor analysis to help evaluate the effectiveness of our collection procedures and to assist management decision making.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration preferably in Accounting or any relevant field of study.
• Proficient knowledge in Tax Administration.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks.
• 3 – 5 years relevant working experience in a similar role.
